Craviotto swings into the 2008 Chicago Vintage & Custom Drum Show!

Johnny Craviotto and his team just returned from the 2008 Chicago Vintage & Custom Drum Show, in St. Charles, Illinois. A weekend full of vintage and custom drums, as well as clinics and master-classes by some of today's top drummers. Craviotto artist & educator Matt Wilson, gave an incredible clinic on Sunday afternoon. Matt's clinic incorporated his personal approach to "the set", and his approach to improvisation. His clinic showcased his musicality and his extreme versatility on the drums. At one point, Wilson turns the snare drum over, places an opera gong on his rack-tom, a splash cymbal on his floor-tom, detunes his bass drum... and absolutely rips into this this hip-hop groove that left the crown speechless. Creativity at it's finest... Wilson finds tonal possibilities in the drums, that others would never imagine...

This special trip to Chicago, also incorporated a Craviotto Appreciation Dinner, for some of Chicaoland's players/artists who play Craviotto drums.

This show, is not to be missed. If you have the chance to visit the Chicago Vintage & Custom Drum Show - it's clearly the drum show of the year.
